WHAT IS THE BEST DIGITAL ASSISTANTS?
A study
revealed how helpful virtual assistants are from Apple, Google, Amazon, and
Microsoft in answering questions related to various topics. Just press a button
on our smartphones to activate the digital assistants on our phone and ask
questions like the hours of a restaurant, the address of a bar or information
about the football season, without the need to search for it in the browser.
Companies
like Apple, Amazon & Google boast of having the best digital assistants,
however, a study by Expert showed that there is one that stands out among the
others. I recommend: Google will prevent
you from sending documents with errors According to the study, Google Assistant
won the battle for the best assistant beating Siri, Cortana and Alexa and
although in the end none of the four is perfect and they all showed
improvements over last year.
The team in
charge of carrying out the study asked the four attendees 800 questions each
divided into five different categories: local, business, navigation,
information and commands. The four
assistants showed a great ability to understand questions. While Digital
Assitant was 100 percent effective,
Apple's Siri
achieved 99 percent, and both Cortana from Microsoft and Alexa from Amazon was
98 percent. But the problem was not that they understood the questions, but
when they answered them they had more flaws. Google Assitant answered correctly
in 85.5 percent of cases, Siri in 78.5 percent, Alexa only in 61.4 percent, and
the worst was Cortana, which was only able to answer well 52.4 percent of the
time.
The study noted that almost all misunderstood
questions involved a proper name, often the name of a local town or restaurant making
them more likely to fail when asked specific questions about a particular site.
Although Digital Assistants dominated in most categories, the following table
shows that Siri only lags far behind when it comes to searching for information
and commerce.
Alexa showed
incapacity in the trade area because her responses always forced Amazon's choices. In the local and navigation questions, Google
Assistant and Siri was the winner's thanks to the integration of maps on their
respective platforms. The results approaching 80-90 percent, the question
arises as to whether attendees will eventually be able to answer everything.
The answer is probably not, but with continuous improvements more and more will
come.
